MLC Inspection & Certification
Maritime Labour Convention 2006 (MLC) is an international agreement of the International Labour Organisation (‘ILO’) which sets out seafarers’ rights to decent conditions of work. Covers conditions of employment, hours of work and rest, accommodation, recreational facilities, food and catering, health protection, medical care, welfare and social security protection.
ICB CLASS is competent and reliable recognized organization duly authorized by several flag states, to carry out surveys and certifications based on MLC Convention including each flag state’s additional requirements.
Upon satisfactory completion of the inspections onboard, following certificates may be issued to the vessel:
- Declaration of MLC (Part II)
- Maritime Labour Certificate
- Interim inspection for issuance of interim MLC (valid six month).
- Initial inspection and issuance of full-term MLC (valid five years).
- Intermediate inspections between the 2nd and 3rd anniversary dates.
- Renewal inspection after 5 years.
